Monthly members meeting, combined with an informal networking BBQ. The event will be held at Miles Cross Farm Education and Enterprise Centre in Symondsbury, near Bridport. Our hosts for the evening will be Tim Hunt and Maxine Knight of Miles Cross Farm and Anne Gray from Ask Dorset will also be speaking at the event.
Ask Dorset is a campaign inviting people to have their say. Like all public services, Dorset County Council’s budget has been squeezed as part of the national austerity measures. So far, the Council has worked hard to find these savings and has reduced its overall annual budget by £60 million. Whilst having minimal impact on front line services, they need to save a further £43 million over the next few years. Nevertheless, the County Council will still be spending £250 million a year on services in Dorset, so the Ask Dorset community engagement campaign is a real opportunity for you to ensure that the money is spent wisely and to have a greatest positive impact on the things you think are most important. The Ask Dorset campaign has got off to a great start. So far, over 3300 Dorset residents have told us their top priorities for the county council to deliver, via roadshows and survey.
