Welcome to Bridport Chamber of Trade and Commerce
Bridport is a thriving market town set in beautiful countryside. The town regularly features on national ‘best places to live’ lists, and continues to grow in popularity amongst visitors and residents. Part of its appeal is in the diverse range of independent businesses operating in and around the town, and our remit is to support and preserve this unusual and strong business environment.
A wide number of sectors operate successfully in the area, including start-ups, artists, catering and foodie establishments, retail outlets, hoteliers, farms, service providers, accountants, lawyers, restaurants and manufacturing. Bridport has a long history in the net trade, with a number of net manufacturers still operating from the town. The town has a large number of well established family run businesses, an example of which is England’s Oldest Family Business, established in 1515: J Balson & Son.
Bridport Business is the Chamber of Trade and Commerce for the town and has around 60 members, located in both the town centre and also the surrounding area.
Our group meets on the second Tuesday of every month, where members are able to informally network and discuss local commercial isssues of concern or importance. In addition to this meeting, we hold a number of events through-out the year to support the needs of the businesses within our community.
