This Press Release is also available in a .pdf format here
Bridport’s Chamber of Trade and Commerce is being rebranded as Bridport Business to highlight its role in supporting local business.
The launch is being supported with a new website, which will also serve as a directory for local businesses, as well as a fresh new logo.
Bridport Business Chairman Mike Harvey said: “Local business people are often unaware of important decisions being made at Town and District Council level that may affect their business; Bridport Business offers a voice for local traders in helping shape these decisions, as well as a friendly forum for lively debate on local matters.”
An independent, not for profit organisation the new Bridport Business aims to swell its membership, which currently stands at over 60, to secure the involvement of further businesses, large and small, from the outskirts of Bridport and its business parks as well as the high street.
Bridport Business meets monthly with representatives from the local community including councillors, police and trade bodies. Parking, transport and planning are just some of the issues covered by the Bridport Business manifesto, which can be seen at the new site: BridportBusiness.org.uk. The monthly meetings are supplemented by networking opportunities throughout the year including social and breakfast meetings.
“For our members the monthly meetings are one of the first sources of new information on forthcoming changes for the Bridport area. It’s our aim to make sure that Bridport provides the ideal environment for businesses to thrive and to supply the goods and services that the town needs to remain economically vibrant,” said Mr Harvey.
Annual membership of Bridport Business is £35 which includes:-
- Listing of a business on the new website
- Regular networking opportunities
- A constant flow of useful local information
- Scope to shape the direction of the Chamber and your community
- The use of the Bridport Business logo on your letterhead or website
