We will be welcoming Rebecca Forrester of Dorset County Council to this event. Rebecca will be speaking on ‘Economy and Growth’, but she will focus on the topic: ‘Would Dorset benefit from a combined authority?
The law changed in 2009 to allow councils to work together differently to help grow the economy and improve prosperity in their local area. The law allows councils to create one of two ‘new’ types of bodies – a Combined Authority or an Economic Prosperity Board. In 2014 more than 15 councils in England started work to create a Combined Authority, and two to create an Economic Prosperity Board. Dorset’s councils want to hear your views about whether one of these new types of partnership would help Dorset to prosper and become more economically vibrant.
A full English breakfast will be served and there is ample time to meet and talk with other local businesses.
